REACH Center Renovation
The remodel work on the reach center started in May and continued through the Jubilee Service day on August 19. A crew of four hundred volunteers worked two to three days a week for twenty weeks to get the building ready to be landscaped outside and painted inside. The Landscape Team planted trees and flowers, spread bark, trimmed or removed shrubs, ivy and weeds and planted sod. The Painting Team painted all the interior walls, wood mullions and beams.
Rick Chesmore and Dave Buck drew up the plans and pushed them throught the city's permit maze. Paul Danis, Emerald State Drywall provided the labor to finish the drywall. The Ripple Effect Campaign provided $200,000 for construction costs and furnishings for the Center.
The REACH Center offers academic support for the neighboring schools, provides educational resources, classes, programs, and support services with the goal to:
- Keep kids safe and emotionally healthy.
- Enrich and enhance kid's academic appreciation and achievement.
- Support teachers and parents with educational resources.
- Provide engaging classes and programs and a safe relational place for the community to gather.
