Volunteers In Bellevue Education System, (VIBES) Ninety minute required training session is required.

  1. KINDERGARTEN TUTOR
    A tutor is needed to work with kindergarten students on letter identification and letter sounds.
  2. MATH HELP FOURTH GRADE
    Assist 4th grade students with multiplication and math homework. 30 minutes per day.
  3. MATH HELP FIFTH GRADE
    Help one to two students with math instruction.
  4. WRITING SUPPORT FIFTH GRADE
    One on one help with writing activities. Some students may be ESL or Special Ed students.
  5. ESL CLASSROOM AIDE
    Assist teacher during instruction time working with students in reading and working on the computer.
  6. LIBRARY HELP
    Help in the library: book check out, help students find books, cover new books, organization, inventory.
  7. PE HELP
    Assist the PE teacher in providing individual and small group supervision and instruction. Activities include 4 square, hockey, basketball, dance, tag games, tennis, bowling, volleyball, golf and others.
  8. SCAN BOOKS INTO WYNN COMPUTER PROGRAM
    A volunteer is needed to scan books into the WYNN program which reads the stories to the students.
  9. CROSSING GUARD ASSISTANT
    Assist staff in monitoring the safety of children using the cross walk in front of school. 7:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m. daily.
  10. STUDENT MENTORS
    Work one-on-one with a student selected by the teacher or other school professionals to support the student’s academic, social and/or emotional needs.
  11. LIBRARY HELPER
    Shelving and checking in/out books
  12. KINDERGARTEN HELPER
    Help keep students focused and participating successfully in the classroom during writing time.
  13. CLASSROOM PEN PALS
    Maintain a monthly pen-pal relationship with guidance by Stevenson’s Reading Specialists and classroom teachers.
  14. BOOK CLUB LEADERS
    Be in charge of leading a small group (4-7) students in a Fifth-grade classroom book club every Friday morning for 30 minutes.
  15. PHONICS TUTORS
    Work one-on-one with a selected student tutoring with a Phonics-based program.
  16. FIFTH-GRADE MATH AIDE
    Assist fifth-grade students with following the math curriculum and completing classroom work in a timely and thorough manner.
  17. AVID TUTOR
    Partner with 5th graders and help them get ready for the transition to middle school.
  18. RECREATION COORDINATORS
    Provide an activity for students during lunch recess (11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Mon, Tues., Thurs. and Friday)
