Monthly Birthday Treats
We are planning to provide 575 cupcakes on the second Tuesday of every month recognize students during their month. We recommend that this ministry be done by Small Groups of 6 people. We would like to have them use the Community Center kitchen on the Monday night before the cupcakes are delivered to Stevenson. Instructions on the use of the equipment and the quantities of ingredients needed will be provided by Sonja.
Snacks for the Classroom
Teachers would like to provide snacks, juice boxes, etc for their students from time to time. This could be a one time opportunity for an individual or Small Group. Details of quantity, type of snacks, etc will be provided by Sonja. The teachers could also use some snack funds that would be available to them so that they purchase snacks without a lot of preplanning.
Sweatsuits and Underwear
We need a variety of sizes of sweat suits and underwear so that a change of clothes are available when students have accidents in the classroom or on the playground. This is another opportunity for an individual or Small Group. Sonja will provide types and sizes needed and a place to leave the items at church.
Family Night Events
There is a need for organized special events designed with interaction in mind for parents and school personel who don't get to see each other often. This is a great opportunity for a Small Group to have a Big impact on a one time basis.
Wake Up Calls
Many of the Stevenson families leave for work long before their children get up to get ready to go to school. Sometimes the children don't wake up in time to catch the bus and miss school. We would like to enlist some folks to call a student several times a week to make sure they are up and will be able to get to the bus on time.
