Ripple Effect Sermon Series

Sermon Series: “The Ripple Effect”

As First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue enters into our 2006 Capital Campaign The Ripple Effect, we're focusing on the "spiritual journey" aspect of stewardship. Faithful stewardship isn't just financial, but rather involves every aspect of our lives. How can stewardship bring us into a deeper relationship with Christ?

April 23

Faith. Faith is following God when you're not certain of the outcome. It's trusting in God's promises enough to act on them. Faith is belief put into action. Good stewardship requires faith that God will take care of us.

April 30

Sacrifice. There is a value in sacrifice. It shapes us to be more like God (who sacrificed for us), it clarifies what our values are, and it helps us to believe what we say we believe. Sacrifice equals giving up something that you love for something that you love even more.

April 30 is a "Worship Through Music" Sunday with special music performed by many of FPCB's music ensembles.

May 7

Prayer. How do we pray? Prayer isn't about us "getting what we want" or "seeking an answer." Through prayer, God expands our hearts to be more like his.

May 14

The Heart of God. God's Heart for children is in each of the 3 circles of The Ripple Effect. Scripture says "Where your treasure is, there your heart will also be." How can we shape our hearts to be more like God's?

The Power of Together. Together we can do this! Everyone is needed, every gift counts. One of the benefits of a Capital Campaign is that it can knit us closer together because we're all in it together. Stewardship is far more powerful and effective when done together, as we can pool our resources and have a much bigger impact. When done together, many more things are possible that are not possible when done individually.
